About
Pépite is a French general-knowledge app: one five-minute lesson a day on French history and literature, in animated cards, sourced and checked by a human, with a question the next day so it sticks.
Why
We spend hours scrolling past things we will have forgotten by the evening. The idea behind Pépite is plain: take those five minutes back, and make something of them that lasts. Not a course, not exam revision — enough to understand, and enough to tell the story.
Who writes

The lessons are written and checked by the Pépite team. Each lesson carries the name of the person who checked it and the date it was last updated. A reported error gets fixed: write to us at bonjour@pepite.today.
The method, in five points
- 1One brief per lesson, which fixes the angle and the sources before the first line is written.
- 2Period sources first: Wikisource, Gallica, Persée, archives and museum websites. The original text outranks the commentary.
- 3A mandatory human check: every date, every figure, every quote is verified in the source, word for word.
- 4What historians debate is presented as debated, not settled.
- 5The sources are listed under each lesson, linked directly, so you can go and look.
What we refuse to do
- No advertising, no selling your data.
- No fake reviews, no invented user counter, no countdown that lies.
- No text published without a human check.
- No encyclopedia paraphrase: we go to the sources, and we cite them.
- No hidden cancellation: it takes one tap, in your account.
